Dating back to 2018 several investment packages had been arranged for the following years as part of long-term corporate planning. The first package, with an investment volume of just over EUR 3 million, primarily involved the expansion and renovation of the existing production facility and office space, and was successfully completed in 2022.
This also marked the start of the second investment package, totalling approximately EUR 2.5 million. The main objective was the optimisation of our production processes and involved the acquisition of 10 new energy-optimised injection moulding machines, including the commissioning of our largest injection moulding machine to date, with a clamping force of 650 tons. Further investments were made in modernising our in-house toolmaking facilities and acquiring state-of-the-art measuring systems. This allows us to offer our customers not only comprehensive, care-free servicing and maintenance of their tools, but it also made our own toolmaking even more efficient and reliable regarding quality of work and adherence to deadlines. At the same time, this framework enables us to continue to meet the high-quality standards of modern plastics manufacturing.
Last but not least, we have also invested heavily in our IT and software landscape, including a new network architecture and new ERP systems. With these measures we create proper conditions to advance the digitalisation of our processes both in day-to-day administration and in production.
Despite the numerous economic challenges of recent years, ranging from the pandemic to the recent recessions in numerous industries, we consciously opted for this bold investment strategy with a total volume of over EUR 5.5 million. FUSO is thus excellently positioned for future challenges, and we are also showing our clear commitment to the production location – the foundation for further growth, sustainability, energy efficiency, and automation.
